Last February 17, 2013, roads in 18 Major Cities across the nation was taken over by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth for the first simultaneous nationwide run in the country. These major cities includes Manila, Baguio, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Clark, Malolos, Sta. Rosa, Batangas, Legazpi, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Iligan, Davao, Koronadal, Butuan, and Marawi. The category run were 3K, 5K, 10K and 18K, and 66,000 runners all over the country join this event with one aim in mind “Mother and Child Protection.” program.
So it was a run for a cause, a run for a reason and its purpose, not a kakas run or a sightseeing run, haha! Now a days there's a lot of organize runs here in Philippines, almost every month. An expensive run or inato run; sometimes it’s simple or technical. But sometimes there is no reason at all, I can’t see any purpose and it’s too obvious. No offense but that's the truth, organizing a run with expensive registration for your own purpose and benefits, haha! It's absurd; it’s like your organizing a crime, and lots of runners don’t see that because they don’t know what their purpose either. They just run for site seeing or for the jerseys/singlet, hikhikhik!
Anyways, I join this run to regain my strength and confidence (was injured so badly). And of course kakas, just kidding, haha!
